Discussion 5 Assignment

In a substantial post based on the reading assigned in Module 5 (Chapters 26 & 27), the live/Teams April 16 lecture, and your own reflections, address these questions (by Thursday).

Make it clear that you have read the chapters and absorbed the lecture information!

Remember to use proper punctuation, cite ALL your sources, and put direct quotes in quotation marks.

1. How do you feel about the way the United States dealt with the Soviet Union after World War II ended?

2. Were the fears most Americans had of Communism at the time reasonable or overblown?

3. Do you think that the way Truman and/or Eisenhower handled the Cold War was wise? Elaborate on either president (or both).

4. Also, share something you learned from Dr. O’Sullivan’s Module 5 lecture (April 16).

Use specific details from the chapters (26 and 27) and from the April 16 lecture to support your response.   Cite ALL your sources.
